Bookings

We are delighted that you are ready to book your session with Ladd Studios! We ask that you first please read our booking information. We operate at specific times of the day in order to ensure the happiness of our neighbours in the CBD area, however please let us know your preferred times and dates at booking and we can discuss alternate options if needed. Our studio is located at Level 2, 100 Mitchell Street, Bendigo and is accessible via a private laneway entry. You will be provided with location entry directions upon booking.

It is advised that you wear closed-toe footwear when accessing the entrance to the studio as the laneway access is shared with other businesses who may leave materials outside. Under no circumstances is alcohol or drugs permitted on our premises at any time. If you intend to bring any guests on the day, we ask that you please advise us prior to booking. Please note that our seating spaces are limited and are prioritised for clients. We also advise that no children be present during sessions due to safety reasons.

Terms and Conditions

Audio Policy

+ Quotes

We endeavour to ensure all audio quotes given are accurate at the time of question, however should a session structure change and the artist requires more time, standard hourly rates will apply. Notice will be given to the artist should this occur.

+ Payment

Session and studio recording payments are required to be made on or prior to the scheduled day of use. No recordings will be released to clients until all open accounts have been settled. Invoices can be sent to the hirer prior to the session which can be paid via bank transfer or credit card. Alternatively, payment can be made via cash or EFTPOS at our studio facilities on the day. Should there be additional time remaining at the end of the session, this will go towards covering post-production costs. Please note, additional hours required will be charged at the hourly rates.

+ Booking Fee

A non-refundable $75 (inc. GST) booking deposit is required to book your date which will be deducted from your overall fee. Any cancellations or alterations to session times must be done 24 hours prior.

+ Session Musicians

If a band, group or individual agrees to submit to a Work for Hire with a Ladd Studios session musician, they will, along with the session musician, be required to fill out a contractual agreement. The agreement states the session musician is being employed for the duration of the recording session under a Work for Hire contract. After the execution of this agreement, the session musician will commence production or contribution to the project. As the project is a Work for Hire, the artist hiring the session musician will own the work and be the sole and exclusive owner of the copyright in the work, including all rights of copyright registration, renewal and extension.

+ File Delivery & Back-Up

All audio files are delivered via a Dropbox link following payment and completion of post-production work. All work not requiring post-production can be released at the end of the session via a Dropbox link or to a client's USB or hard drive (formatted for Mac) following payment. It is advised that clients keep their own back-up files for all projects as Ladd Studios accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged files. Should additional file transfers be required in the future, this will be charged at the standard hourly rates.

+ Portfolio Samples

The client agrees to allow Ladd Studios to showcase any and all work created in the course of a project as part of our portfolio for the purpose of advertising and display. Ladd Studios acknowledges the confidential nature of projects and agrees to only display the final project work once the product has been publicly announced and launched by the client.

Design Policy

+ Payments

All payments are required to be made prior to the delivery of final files. Larger design projects will also require a 50% deposit of the overall fee to begin work. The remaining balance will be requested at the end of the process. If a cancellation of the project should occur, the deposit is non-refundable.

+ Booking Fee

A non-refundable 50% booking deposit is required to book your design project in the schedule. The remaining balance of the invoice will be required to be paid at the completion of the project.

+ Alterations

Once a project is complete, Ladd Studios will always provide the client with the opportunity to review the work. Should the client require further changes or website updates to a project after the final invoice has been paid and work delivered to the client, it will be charged at the standard hourly rates.

+ Approval of Final Artwork

While Ladd Studios takes all care to avoid errors, we accept no responsibility for typographical errors, spelling mistakes, or incorrect information on any project committed to print or production after the client has signed off on a project. It is the responsibility of the client to proof read and approve all final copy and design before the production of artwork. Email or verbal verification from the client shall be considered final approval of all artwork prior to their release for printing. It is the sole responsibility of the client to notify Ladd Studios of any such errors during the revision stage of the design process and before the final files have been generated and delivered to the client.

Gift Voucher Policy

+ Validity

Ladd Studios gift vouchers are valid for a period of 6 months from date of purchase, and all bookings must be made within this period. Should a booking be unable to be made for any reason, the voucher can be extended for a further 3 months for a fee of $75 (inc. GST). Gift vouchers are valid for one session use only.

+ Bookings

All session bookings must take place within the gift voucher validity date. Session bookings using a gift voucher must be made either via email or telephone and voucher number must be quoted at this time. The original gift voucher must be presented to Ladd Studios upon arrival for the session. If the voucher cannot be produced at this time, then payment must be made for the session booked or the session will be otherwise cancelled.

+ Additional Spend

Should the total spend be more than the value of the gift voucher, Ladd Studios will invoice for the difference and this must be paid as per usual booking terms and conditions. Should the expiry date lapse without a booking being made, the voucher is not redeemable for cash or refund, however can be extended for a further 3 months for a fee of $75 (inc. GST).

+ Exchanges

Gift vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash. No refund or change will be given on any unused portions of the voucher.

+ Lost, Stolen or Damaged Vouchers

Gift vouchers are not replaceable if lost, stolen or destroyed, photocopied or altered in any way and will not be accepted by Ladd Studios or be otherwise redeemable.

+ Do you offer package deals?

Yes, we do. Along with our standard hourly rates, we also offer discount deals for 4 hour, 8 hour, and 5 consecutive day sessions. For more information, please see our rates.

+ How do you accept payment?

We accept payment via cash, card, bank transfer and PayPal. We have EFTPOS facilities on site at the studio or alternatively we can send you an invoice with payment details included. Session and studio recording payments are required to be made on or prior to the scheduled day of use. No recordings will be released to clients until all open accounts have been settled.

+ Am I permitted to bring guests?

When hiring the studio, you may have the opportunity to bring in guests for projects. Please advise us of any additional persons you may be bringing into the studio prior to doing so as we are responsible for their conduct and safety in our studios. Please note, the studio is not a suitable environment for children under any circumstances. Bear in mind, having additional members during the process usually slows down productivity.

+ Do you provide session musicians?

We do have a directory of session musicians available for hire should you require someone to play on your project. Let us know in advance the style and instrument you are looking for and we will endeavour to find a match. Our studio engineer, Erek, is also available for hire on drums, bass and guitar and can record during or outside of session hours. All session musicians are available at a rate of $50/hour + GST.

+ Do we need to bring our own instruments?

While we do have an extensive collection of gear at the studio, it is preferrable that you endeavour to bring your own gear in order to achieve your recognisable sound.

+ Food and drink in the studio?

You are permitted to bring your own food and drink to the sessions, but please refrain from bringing it into the live recording room where damage may occur. A kitchen area is also set-up for clients to access tea and coffee facilities, along with water bottles on hand. We are centrally located near supermarkets, fast food and café outlets that you can easily access during breaks as well.

+ Smoking or alcohol in the studio?

Please be advised that smoking is only permitted in the outdoor area and not within the studio premises. Under no circumstances are drugs or alcohol to be brought into the studio at any time.

+ Can I take a tour of the studio facilities?

Call or email us in advance to schedule a time to check out the studio. We would be more than happy to show you through.
